"The idea for the Louie loops began about 4 years ago. I wanted something that would give better results when performing front riser dives for high performance landings. These are the benefits of the end result: Instead of the end of the loop being bar-tacked behind, and at the top of the 3 point; I made sure the loop is 1” longer, and goes up and around the top of the riser, and it is bar-tacked at the top of the 3 point in front and facing down instead of up. This effectively brings the dive loop up about 2 inches. If the risers are long enough, it means you will have full arm extension. This now gives the pilot a diverse range in front riser dives, because of the extra range, you can strategically plan your dive to be longer. Now, if your dive is going to be longer, naturally this will start to tire your arm. The Louie Loop is setup for a higher reach as this allows an easier pull down and less stress on you.

Comfort:
I went ahead and added a piece of 1” tubular nylon on the inside of the dive loop. This takes it to the next level of comfort;  it actually feels nice to grab and hold, and during those long front riser dives, the Louie Loop will not dig into your hand unlike the one pieces of webbing. On the flip side of this design, the added tubular nylon webbing also keeps the dive loop open when the canopy is out, for ease of grabbing.

All in all, the Louie loops gives a  better feel for comfort and a better feel for control as you are pulling directly from the slink, instead of two inches below."
